Can I get a library card from the Lower Providence Community Library?

Yes — if you reside in, or pay property taxes to Lower Providence Township.

Can I print out a library application from home?

Yes.  Click here to fill out a library application. You can fill it out at home and have it ready for your library visit.

Can I use my Lower Providence library card at other Pennsylvania libraries?

Your card entitles you to use most other Pennsylvania public libraries that participate in the ACCESS program. Your card should have a blue sticker on it if you have ACCESS privileges.  Items can be checked out and/or returned at any of these libraries.

Does a library card ever expire?

A card is valid for three years and then must be renewed.

What if I lose my card?

If you lose your card during that period, we will issue a new one for a $3.00 fee.

Can I get a library card from the Lower Providence Community Library if I live outside of Lower Providence Township?

Montgomery County residents who live outside of Lower Providence Township may complete an application for a card here, which we will forward to your home library for issuance.

How long can I keep my items?

21 Days – Most books (Adult AND Children)

21 Days – Audio Cassettes and CDs

21 Days – NEW Adult Fiction

21 Days – Periodicals

21 Days – DVDs/Videos and Seasonal/Holiday titles

7 Days – New Adult DVDs

Loan periods for Interlibrary Loan items vary.  This is determined by the library that OWNS the items, not by Lower Providence Library.

Requested books are now held for 7 days.
