Britt-Marie Was Here and The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper

Two novels released this week are on my ever growing list of books to read. I recently finished Fredrik Backman’s tender and funny, A Man Called Ove and I’m hoping his latest book Britt-Marie Was Here, is just as sweet. The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper by Phaedra Patrick, finds 69 year old Arthur Pepper embarking on an adventure to find the truth about his recently deceased wife’s secret life before they met.  Check them out-literally!  We have copies of both at the library.

The Widow

the widow

If you enjoy reading psychological thrillers like Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train, take a closer look at the recently published debut novel, The Widow by Fiona Barton.  A widow shares her side of the story after her husband, who was accused of a horrible crime, dies.  The novel is told from the perspective of the widow, a detective and a reporter covering the story.  Judging by good reviews and strong sales, you may see The Widow on every beach chair this summer.
